Re: model 11 20ga mfg date & choke

I've looked for a better description of that choke... you found it! Outstanding. Well I couldn't stand the dirt and muck in the action... finally decided to spend the time and solvent and get it cleaned up. So disassembly was yesterday... reassembled today... just in time to shoot a round of skeet w...

model 11 20ga mfg date & choke

Just bought this beauty and it's not really old, so has nice bluing. Model 11 serial 1,056,804. It's got a Poly Choke Ugh! and I'm thinking about removing it and having Carlson's install a screw in choke system. I shoot skeet mostly so would get a cyl, skeet, & imp-cyl chokes. Pictures include a sho...

Re: An 1100 that looks like this

The Remington 1187 Premier models (early) came with the embellished receiver. I had one, but gave it to my daughter to sell in her Pawn Shop. I picked it up because it was really dirty and had some pre-rust starting. I was able to restore most of it's looks, and after a thorough cleaning using a too...

Strange Forend Crack in 1100G3

Recently purchased an 1100G3 which came to me with a badly cracked forend. I notified the sending party, and they adjusted the price. However the mystery of how such a crack could occur in a shotgun that showed very little use was intriguing. Upon inspection the gas system showed near new parts with...

Re: 1100 G3 with wrong barrel.

Found another gun to take parts from. This one needs a new forend. Must be the G3 forend due to matching checkering and looks. In the meantime I'll fix the crack. What is a good price for a G3 12ga with a 28" Rem Choke Barrel that has had the forcing cone reamed and polished. Comes with a Skeet chok...

Re: 1975 vintage upgrade - SOLD

I'm selling this beauty... have been seduced by the 1100G3. Bought one, then another. Love the way they move. Looking for a barrel... can't find one. But the "vintage upgrade" is on Gun Broker for sale.... will finance my next adventure

Re: 1100 G3 with wrong barrel.

Spend most of Monday looking for G3 barrels everywhere I could think of. Called Remington to see if the shotgun even shipped with the overbored barrel. It did... someone at Gander Mtn switched the barrel and took home an 1187 with a much nicer barrel for cheap. The original purchaser was never aware...

1100 G3 with wrong barrel.

I just bought a 1100G3 and when inspected it had a brand new 28" 2.75 or 3" Rem Choke barrel with a pair of .106" gas ports. Wonder if Remington used mis matched barrels toward the end of production. Seems if they did they'd have to advise the customer. The new Competition model 1100 has a 30" Pro-B...

1100 G3 12ga weight

I just found a nice 1100G3 12ga. Boy does it seem heavy. Removed recoil pad expecting to see some weights. But no weights. I thought their stock was Carbon Fiber with wood overlay. My 20 gauge G3 is very light by comparison to an equivalent non G3 1100. This one has a few handling marks... Unfortuna...

Model 660 Reassembly

I've been struggling with reassembly because of magazine parts being so difficult to control during assembly. The short cartridges require a spacer and that coupled with the follower, and the springy magazine box make it a two man job. My mag had developed almost imperceptible burr from wrong assemb...

Re: Remington 660 Trigger Recall - FINAL

The work being done as I write is NOT at the Illion NY plant. The "premier" repair center is PADACUH shooters supply in KY. I'll post follow up photos of the repaired rifle upon receipt. Well people... not so good. The Paduch shop manager is a Pompus piece of work, and argued with me regarding what ...

Re: 1975 vintage upgrade

Finished with the upgrades... my out of pocket is about $575 and it's just like a "Sporting 12" except for the receiver markings. I don't mind.. It shoots nicely with it's new 28" tube. No more ejection problems... which was a real brain teaser. After drilling out the gas ports I thought the problem...

Re: Remington 660 Trigger Recall - UPDATE

Remington agrees to replace the epoxied trigger and pay for a replacement stock. My service representative was more helpful than their historian who attempted to get me to accept $100 towards a replacement stock. As many of you know... factory original stocks for these guns are few and far between. ...

Re: 1975 vintage upgrade

I decided to do it right, and had Stumpies Guns in Swansboro NC dimple the magazine tube. Now that they have the tooling made up, subsequent jobs will be a snap. Works just like a new model. I'll never put an extended tube on it...

The job Stumpies did was just like factory... I was very pleased!
