remington auto5 with savage barrel help

Post by flinch+ »

hello and thanks for help in advance. For years I have had a Remington Sportsman 12 gauge hump back .The receiver is serial number 760470. Its in good shooting shape with a nice patina on the receiver. Wonder about the age because the barrel is replaced and marked Savage arms 12 gauge model 720. Great gun for dove but I dont do that anymore and 12gauge hurts when you have arthritis. I'm going to have to sell it. I dont have a clue so my question is does it have any value? I haven't taken it to the local gun store yet.

Check some of the online auction sites for values.

I've been actively searching the model 11 market for some time. Mostly for 20ga, however I believe what I am going to tell you is true.

Because it's a mixed breed your chances of getting more than a few hundred bucks is very low. Many 12ga model 11 shotguns out there that are of greater value because they are all Remington. I just completed a lengthy look for 20ga imp-cyl guns and found only one. The guy claimed it was in 90% condition and I agreed to purchase for $475 delivered. However further inspection of the photos showed the roll mark duck scene was partially destroyed. Now the gun is operational, but only worth $350-$400 depending on how much you wanted a model 11 imp-cyl 20ga.

20's are worth $100-$150 more than 12's 16's go cheap due to lack of low priced ammo. Depending on condition, you might consider just hanging it on the wall and remembering some good times you had with it.
