Re: Remington 11D Year of Production
This is the left side. The serial number on this gun is definitely engraved. When you look at it under magnification you can clearly see the tool marks. Also, should the forearm be serial numbered to the gun like on the early Browning Auto 5's?

Remington 11D Year of Production
Hello,
I recently purchased a Remington 11D and I am trying to determine year of manufacture. The serial number is 809**. I do not know much about them other than they were produced by Remington under the Browning Patent. The engraving is awesome. This engraving is almost comparable to a Grade III ...

Re: Long Range Model 11 (2 shot?)
Here are a couple of photos of the "Sportsman" with a 32 inch barrel with a Vented Rib. The serial number is 397556.
I tried to identify the date code but I could not figure it out so I am posting a photo. Did Remington serialize the components like the Browning Auto 5, (ie.. receiver, barrel, and ...

Long Range Model 11 (2 shot?)
Hello,
I received a message from a friend asking me if I would be interested in buying a Remington Model 11 Sportsman that he saw in a pawn shop. He said that the barrel was 32 inches long, engraved with the words "long range" and that it was listed as a "2 shot" on the tag and was in very good ...

Re: Remington "American Browning"
Hopefully this will post as an attachment of the larger style of scrollwork on the "American Browning" I will try to post another image of the smaller scrollwork most often seen on these particular years.

Re: Remington "American Browning"
Chuck,
Thanks for your reply! I started picking up a few Brownings a few years ago and I had several opportunities to buy some "American Brownings" at some reasonable prices. I passed on those early purchases but wish now that I had not been so keen to dismiss them. The more I began to study the ...

Re: Remington "American Browning"
Sorry for the adding in the wrong link to the Shotgun World forum. I had copied the link from Jack71 for information for another post and added it back in by mistake.
The link I should have posted was about some information on the "American Browning" 3 Shot.

Re: Remington "American Browning"
Thanks again for the input. I have ordered a couple of catalogs from Cornell Publishing from the 1940's era in hopes of gaining some perspectives and photos. Whatever I find of interest I will post back here.

Re: Remington "American Browning"
Thank you for that page! The puzzle has another valuable piece. Is there any way that you could expand page 58 so that we could read the far right side of the page? My mind is now wondering what is the earliest advertisement we could find for the "American Browning" as this ad from Stoeger appears ...

Re: Remington "American Browning"
Thank you very much for your reply and the link to the thread. I just purchased my subscription to the Blue Book of Gun Values based on your information and it was well worth it.

Remington "American Browning"
Hello,
I am new to this forum and am hoping to find information for the Remington produced "American Brownings" of World War II. Specifically, the number of shotguns produced for each gauge (A, B, C, prefixes) and what year of production such serial numbers may indicate.
I have also noticed during ...
