Re: Remington "lightweight" Hammerless SxS's?
Maybe you're thinking of the 1889. Some were advertised as light weights. No Paul, the idea of smaller frame "Light Weight" 1894's have been floated in some camps for years. I do not know if it ever made a "Double Gun Journal" story or not but I expected it to when Mr. Deem star...

Re: Pre-1921 model 10 dating
Everyone wants to date a 10, you'll be happier with a 5! Lol I am no expert on 10's but have looked at a lot of them and Model 11's of the same time frame and my theory is that the Remington and Circle UMC stampings on the tangs are the discerning features of the Model 10 and 11. Without those I con...

Re: Early Model 11 Remingtons
Thanks for the side by side photo.
I have never realized that the earliest models had a different contouring of the receiver sides than the other pre-18,000 serial number guns that were side stamped.
The ejection port difference always masked this change to my eye.
Great guns, keep them well!

Re: Long Range Model 11 (2 shot?)
Or for the price 8 Steel Die Stamps and a small hammer you could have as many as you want on anything! I just saw am auction go through that must have had 10 "Long Range" barrels in it. All configurations, except oddly enough, a vent rib but in 12 and 16 ga. My grandfather always said a fo...

Re: Long Range Model 11 (2 shot?)
In the Blue Book there is a word of caution: "Beware of Fakes" Without seeing the stamping it is hard to make an educated guess. But if you notice by 1939 the catalog explicitly states 30" plain and Solid Rib barrels only on the 11 and Sportsman. I have not seen a "Long Range&quo...

I again point to the Hartly and Graham catalog that insinuates a Pigeon Gun is no more than a Straight Stocked one! Lol

Re: Remington Model 1894 Pigeon and Trap Guns
That's the one it was brought to light on this forum and should still be able to be found through the search function.
Just not listed as an EEO or a Pigeon Gun so it would take some doing!
Mike appreciates it I'm sure! Lol
I think there are 4 maybe 5 other photos.

Re: Another 1100 Inquiry
The barrel, however, was custom choked by I believe Stan Baker (decd.) in Washington.
If you post some photos or do a search on Stan Baker on Trapshooters.com you can get a much better education than I provide.
Good Luck, Will

Re: Inherited model 11
Have you had it apart? It could be any number of things restricting travel in the magazine tube. First order of business is to take it completely down removing the forearm and barrel then the magazine spring retainer cap, watch the spring and possible plug and finally the magazine follower. This sho...

Re: manufacture date of model 11
Thanks it looks like everything is original to the gun to me, except of course the recoil pad.
The capped pistol grip is not as common as the half or straight grip.
Also, by this time ribbed barrels are more predominant.
Nice gun I hope you enjoy owning/shooting it.

Re: manufacture date of model 11
RCracing25, Jim Tipton's research has the gun produced in 1911. Is there "Remington" Stamped on the top tang and a Circle "UMC" trademark on the bottom tang? Just curious. If you could post or send me a few good quality pictures of the key components I can let you know if any or ...

Yes my dear friend Jim Tipton always said that "High Grade Remingtons swim in Schools"! Lol
Unfortunately for me when I decided to part with one it was the first of three that weekend and at least 2 since then!

Re: Engraved Rem 12C
Thanks ChuckD for the further insight. If that is the case than that is the Remington Model Code. In Shotguns the: Model 1894 - P Model 1900 - Q Model 10 - U Model 11 - V Model 17 - BO I believe I have heard of a letter designation for the Model 14 Rifles but it escapes me at the moment. Hope this h...
