No, you did not miss anything. I understand that the parts may be worth more than I said I'd sell it for. What you don't know is that it was in pretty tough shape. If a part was available, I thought what the heck, I'll see if it'll shoot reliably. Well the part was/is not. So I had two choices. 1.) deal with the folks here who are into old Remmies, or 2.) sell it to Numerich.
Either would have met my desire - that is to see that parts get into circulation for others who need to get their shooter going again. It was not about making money. It was about putting parts into circulation since there were not enough for me to get one going. It's more about keeping other shooters alive at this point.
If I had been offered the missing hammer for $100, I would have laughed to myself and sold the partial anyway. I can buy a used modern high pressure single shot for that kind of money
