Request: Remington 550A, 550- l (not 1), and 550-P

I'm hoping a few folks here would be willing to help me out. I require pictures of the model stamps on the barrel for the Remington:

550A
550-I (with the line not the late defined 1)
550 I without the dash mark
550-P (not the 550-1P)

I will be using these in a book I am writing and would give you ...

Writing a book: The Remington Model 550 Series Rifle

I'm currently writing a book on the Remington 550 .22 Rifles series and am at the point in the writing where I need a 550-P1 for research and pictures. I already have the one 550 (550A), two 550-1's, and two 550-2G's. If anyone has a line on one that someone might be interested in selling for a ...

Re: Date my Remington 550-1

That's definitely a tough one. I don't think that the stamp left of the four is a letter. It looks more like a 3. So I would look more at the stamp to the far left. It looks to be an L, so L C would be February 1956. The 550-1 was manufactured ~ 1949–1970s. Sorry, I know it's a guess, I wish I could ...

Re: My Remington 550

Well, I was able to find a 550 (550A) and now have that in hand. I'm almost complete, I have the 550, two 550-1, two 550-2G's and am now looking for a 550-1P

Remington engineers Lowe and Loomis?

I'm looking for pictures of Engineers Kenneth J. Lowe (worked 19320 to 1947) and Crawford Charles Loomis (worked 1920 ~ 1952) for the Remington Arms Company in Ilion, New York. Would anyone know a source that might have photos ?

I'm writing a paper on each and have been unable to source any ...

Remington 550 550A Bolt

I've been researching the Remington 550 and would like to purchase a 550 bolt that has the dual extractors. I'm not sure what this bolt looks like on all sides and would like to identify one so I can purchase it. Would anyone happen to have pictures of the 550 or 550A with the dual extractors?

It ...

Re: My Remington 550

This is a great example of the Remington 550. I've been looking for a 550 or 550A but have yet to find one. I have the 550-1 and will be picking up a 550-2G in two weeks. Would you happen to have a picture of the right and left sides of the bolt? I've been looking for a 550 bolt, as I don't have the ...

Re: 721 722 725 dates of mfg

I call this one my "rescue rifle" it looks like whoever owned it before left it in the corner of their bedroom closet and let it rust up. It needs a good cleaning and de-rust treatment to get it in working order but everything is there, headspaces correctly, and has an excellent bore.

Hre are the ...

Re: 721 722 725 dates of mfg

Was up in Idaho last week and stopped in a local gun store. They had a Remington Model 721 in 30-06 sitting on the shelf. I could not pass it up for $240.00, it has an Herters I think, after-market stock with a really short length of pull, I'm going to look for a factory stock to put back on the ...

Model 510 Targetmaster 1939 Manual vs. Later Versions

I recently came across an Original Remington 510 Targetmaster Instruction for Operation and Care manual. I bought it because I had never seen a 510 manual that was laid out this way. The envelope the "The New 1939" on it and the instruction front page has the rifle's specifications whereas the later ...
