could the 30/08 just be a buggered up 30-06 stamping? makes more sense, a 6 than an 8.?

DR. Bill, if I flare the case mouth to much, with the wine GIZZY, how would I go about getting it back to fit into the gun.?

what I do is just take a 7.62x54 RUSSIAN ROUND and just shoot/ fire it in the gun, and VIOLA!! you have a finished round, that is what I do, and am not telling any else to do it.

about 50+ yrs ago I was stupid enough to have a LGS, convert one of the 7m/m's into a 410 shot gun, yes I know it was a SIN, but that was the mind set at the time. they were cheep and all over the place!

PS. the reason that I did not want to use a 50/70 as a parent case, was the price of them, I am FRUGAL/CHEEP! and when and if one develops a split neck it will be made into one. I have a lot of 348's & MILITARY BERDAN PRIMED cases, in my scrap pail that have split necks. and yes I convert the FRENCH ...

well I got 2 made, one FROM a 348, WINCHESTER & AND ONE FROM AN 8 M / M LEBEL. I cut them to legenth with a DREMMEL annealed them and turned my 50 / 70 CAL. sizing die down as far as it would go. just made it, the seater would not go down enough, so I used a wooden mallet to tap the head into the ...
