We recommend that you
arrive in Cody a day or two earlier
or plan to stay after the seminar to
take in the local attractions. We are
planning an informal trip to Yel-
lowstone National Park on Monday,
prior to Tuesday’s Reception. We will use our own cars and plan to have lunch in the Park (details to follow). There are several firearm manufacturers in the area including Wyoming Armory, makers of Schuetzen style target rifles and Model 1885 High Wall rifles and publisher of Black Powder Cartridge Magazine as well as the Best of the West, manufacturers of long-range precision rifles, optics and ammuni- tion, both in Cody. There are also several gun stores and pawn shops in Cody with a great variety of firearms and related items for sale as well as a very well appointed quilting and fabric shop (Friends & Co. Quilt Shop) for those so inclined.
A tentative activity schedule for the seminar will include:
- Reception and Banquet Dinner at
the Buffalo Bill Center of the West. - There are five museums plus the
McCracken Research Library. Each tour should take an hour, and in the course of two and one-half days, each group will cover all five museums. - RSA member displays will be set up in back area of the Coe Audito rium.
- Numerous historical lectures on a variety of Remington-related top ics.
- Visit the Wyoming Armory to see a demonstration of the case color ing process used by Steve Garbe
in the manufacturer of single-shot rifles (Steve has also agreed to give us a presentation at our seminar on building Schuetzen rifles). - We are also invited to tour the facility of The Best of the West where they manufacturer long-
range precision rifles, optics and ammunition. Closing BBQ dinner at the Center with RSA raffles and action.
If you are interested in attending the seminar, please don’t hesitate to register. There is no limit on the number of attendees but the availability of rooms at the Holiday Inn at the group rate is limited to 30 rooms and September is their busiest month. We expect this to be a very popular and well-attended seminar.
