From the Remington Factory:

  • FIRST TYPE: .46 rimfire, 5-shot, no ejector, cylinder stamped PATENTED APRIL 3D, 1855
    • Need conversion (between muzzle and loading lever catch) and serial numbers, and other markings.
  • FIRST TYPE (RECYCLED): same as above but with an ejector added
    • Need conversion and serial numbers and other markings.
  • SECOND TYPE: .46 rimfire, 5-shot, ejector, conversion number between loading lever catch and serial number on bottom barrel flat
    • Need conversion and serial numbers and other markings.
  • THIRD TYPE: .46 rimfire, 5-shot, ejector, cylinder has ramps to stop slots, conversion number between loading lever catch and serial number on bottom barrel flat
    • Need conversion and serial numbers and other markings.
    • RE ABOVE: markings also occur on the inside of the ejector bracket and backing-plate (facing the recoil shield face). Should you decide to remove these, I can email instructions.
    • Please note if revolvers are blued or nickeled.

From Other Sources:

  • FOURTH TYPE: .44 center-fire (including the Frankford Arsenal Martin round FOR COLT’S AND REMINGTON’S ARMY REVOLVERS), has backing-plate and same ejector as the Remington .46 rimfire conversions
    • Need serial number and ejector bracket (inside) marking and any other markings present.
  • Non-Remington Factory Army Size: many variations, some with ejectors and/or loading gates, some without; some with loading grooves, some without; most are .44 Colt center-fire; a few, .44 or .46 rimfire, or .45 center-fire
    • Need descriptions–of ejectors, loading gates, loading grooves–if present, serial number and other markings, and any unusual features.
  • Remington .46 rimfire and .44 center-fire revolvers with capping plates fitting over the backs of cylinders
    • Need full descriptions.
  • .22 kits that fit Remington .44 percussion revolvers
    • Need full descriptions.

I am aiming to publish material that will be helpful to collectors of and those interested in Remington large-bore conversion revolvers.
