Model 81 date of manufacture

I recently purchased a woodmaster model 81 in 300 savage. I read in an old guntraders guide that they were made from 1935 to 1950. Can you give me an exact date of manufacture???? the serial # 21646 and there is xxx on the left side of the barrel shroud. what value would you put this gun in 90% condition. Thank you for your help.

Thank you for the reply. it is xxx 3 the 3 is just slightly lower than the xxx. does this mean it went in for repair in 1951?????? what would the value for it be in 90% . I have always liked these old guns and this is the first one that I have been able to afford. Thanks Robbie

This is an interesting serial number (WW2 production), if the production code is consistent. Is the safety lever attached with a screw? REMEYE
