A friend has brought me a Remington 22 that I cannot identify. It is a pump action, with no model number that I can see. Top ejection, tube magazine, serial no. 64XXX. On the barrel is the following:
Pedersen's patent Oct 12. 9
Mar 8. 10
Jul 8. 10
Nov 21.11
Apr 8 (and the rear sight screw covers any other number).
Any ideas of what this is?

Parson Colt:
Remington has made three pump action 22 rifles, none of which are top ejecting.
The rifle you describe sounds closest to a Model 12. It would have been made in 1911 judging by the serial number. But... the patent dates don't match with the rifles I have seen. Also, I can't imagine what type of rear sight would reach forward far enough to block out part of the patent dates. Does your rifle have REMINGTON ARMS CO. stamped on the barrel???
