I am seeking information regarding curious markings on a Model 1875 revolver. It is on the cylinder and also on the frame between the cylinder and barrel. I can't accurately represent it as it looks like neither a number nor a letter; the closest approximation is "|.2" but with the dot at the top and a forshortened tail in the "2". I have seen this on an Austria Gasser M1870. The frame is also marked "NC". Has anyone any idea what these markings represent? A European copy perhaps?
