760 Gamemaster

My wife inherited a 760 Gamemaster in 30-06 Springfield. According to the Remington Model History, that caliber was built in 1952, but the barrel code, as researched on this site, indicates it was built June 1956 (Code PC 33 on barrel). Was the 30-06 Springfield a common caliber over several model years?

yes. the most popular caliber actually. and probably the only one that never went out of production during the whole 760 lifetime, 1952-1980 or 82. it is still in production in the 7600.
