Engraved Model 8 Grade ID

A friend received a Model 8 in a leather take down case from a relative. He needs help with grade ID, age, and value for ins. Rifle has a 4 digit SN. Pics are available.

Walt thanks for your reply. The trigger guard and magazine has engraving on the bottom. No game scenes just scroll engraving on sides, top & bottom of receiver & rear of barrel. Barrel blue is 50-60% receiver about 60-70% wood has some small dings no cracks does not appear to be refinished. It has a No. 4 in the forearm and a 5 digit number that does not match the gun. Front sight has been replaced, rear is missing, has a tang sight.
