Hello! I have located one of these rear sights that utilizes the two holes at the rear edge of the receiver. The owner says it fit on a Model 14 pump Remington. Is there any chance at all that this will fit on the Remington Model 12-C? I asked the owner to measure the distance between centers of the screw holes but have not heard from him yet. The distance as I measure it is roughly 9/16ths of an inch. I don't want to buy something that will not work. Thanks again!

Rear tang sight for the Model 12-C Remington
Rear sight
Greg:
You probably are talking about a Lyman #2 tang sight. The Marbles has three holes. According to my Old Gunsights book, the M/14 uses "Same as those for Model 12 rifle", so they it should work. The boxes my sights are in only mention the M/12 though...

Rear Tang sight for the Model 12

I have more info today than I had when I typed this question. The sight is a Marbles and it has three holes. The two holes that utilize the mounting holes at the back of the Model 12's receiver do match the spacing of the holes in the receiver. Also, the patent date is 1903 on the Marbles sight. I'm finding that at my age (56) the sight on the barrel of the Model 12 is a bit hard to use unless you have good light---real good light! Someitmes, actually most of the time in Wisconsin, all you have is bad light...! The peep tang sight may be very welcome! I got two cartons of Remington Standard Velocity for this rifle so that should put me in busness for awhile. I was trying to shoot the heads off of dandelions at the edge of the woods yesterday but was not having much luck at 25 yards. I'll have to find another Model 12 so I don't wear this one out! Thanks for the help!
