new to RSA W/? Remington Air Rifle

i have a very old "Remington Air Rifle" pump. it still shoots, in fair condition considering age and use but i cannot locate any information or history - anywhere!
has anyone heard of, seen and know where i can get info and history.

The Remington air rifle was designed by Crawford C. Loomis. the air rifle was introduced to the public in 1928. The metal surfaces were all painted black with a plain wood stock and grooved forend. The first models only shot .177 caliber lead BBs. In 1932 an improved model came out that you could shoot lead or steel shot. The BB gun was discontinued in 1934 with a total production number of 19,646 sold.

I would like to add to what remington660 posted.
When introduced in 1928 the Remington air rifle (BB gun) was called the Model 26. Remington made it like their other rifles, with blued metal parts. However, it sold for 50 cents more than the Daisy.
At some point in time they changed the finish to black paint on the metal.

thanks Chuck & Remington600. it is the first info i have be able to get anywhere. mine is NOT painted black, so i assume it's an earlier model. i have looked in the blue book but found nothing - so many listed, i could have missed it. i will try to find the book suggested. i have pics but can't seem to be able to post them here. if interested, let me have your email, i will send and than maybe you can post if worthwhile. it is interesting that they stopped production a year before i was born! i have no idea where my dad got the rifle for my Christmas but i remember i was too young to pump the thing....
