Is this actually a 1907 Model 8??

Given to me by my father a LOT of years back. Not sure where he acquired it... Circle with a J in it, and 3068 below that... an S below that. I did some digging on this site and it would appear that it is a 1907?? Either i'm not reading this correctly, or this is a hell of a lot older gun than I thought!!
