As I stated in the subject line. I have a 550-1 that the recoiling chamber is loose in the barrel and slides out. How do I secure it properly? Can I use green loctite for this? I believe it is the only problem with this 550-1. I will accept any info, tips or a procedure for tightening/securing in place including PM's.
I will consider sending to a gunsmith if I can not get the info I need to repair this Classic.
Thank you for looking and any info.

fixitman,
I'm not a gunsmith, and don't know what holds the floating chamber in the barrel. However, I do know if you fasten it in the barrel you will only be able to shoot long rifle cartridges. The floating chamber holds a short cartridge and recoils with it, thus increasing pressure on the bolt, and allowing it to cycle.
I know this won't solve your problem, but it might help?
