#1 sporting rifle with history *pictures*

Post by lardog »

Hey guys heres another one for you. This is a special order rifle with a set trigger and is in excellent condition. I mean it was really taken care of. My question is about the engraving, did Remington ever do anything like this? Is that silver, gold, or platinum, etc.? Hoping you guys can shed some light.

I suspect its after market and in silver. A jeweler can tell you though. Nice rifle. Is it 44-77?

Final question is where the heck are you finding all these?

Thanks for the info Yellowhouse. It is a 40-50 bottleneck and as far as my luck in finding them all I can say is it is just that, "luck". Sad to say though I'm having to thin down my collection at the moment. I actually have this one and several others that I'm going to sell. Thanks again

Hard to locate but I found two of them by searching for Remington sporting.

I'd advise putting "Rolling Block" in the title. You'll get more hits that way.

Just sayin.

Thanks for the tip. BTW I got to shoot my 45-70 with double set triggers for the first time yesterday and it was so awesome! I'll post a picture once I shoot a deer with it or something!

Thanks again
