Old model 10 warning!
Took my Model 10 shooting and I decided to abuse the thing by loading 7 birdshot shells into it and firing them as fast as I could cycle the shotgun. It worked flawlessly. I then loaded two 00 buck shells. When I cycled the weapon the first shot slam-fired. The second shot acted normally. It was a good thing that I had the shotgun pointed down range when I did. I could have done some serious damage if I had racked the gun before proceeding to point it down range. I still haven't figured out if it was the heat of the barrel, or some other malfunction. But it fired just like a trench gun without meaning to. I tried it again, letting the barrel cool off between shots and it still slam fired intermittantly. Anybody out there in Remingtonland have similar problems with a model 10?
