Results with a Model 541X

This weekend I went afield with an assortment of .22 rimfire ammunition, all different grades and brands, ranging from a low price of 1.95 per box for some WInchester-Super X High vel. hollow point to a high of 5.95 a box Remington/Eley Target Grade.

Here's the result.
This is a 7 shot group at 60 yards, that's a two inch square. Even if you count the flyers, which were my fault, you have a 1 inch (c to c) group. Since 5 of the seven went into one hole, I think it's safe to say, this rifle can shoot!

Now, try to guess which ammo produced this result? Yes, it's a trick question; the cheapest of the lot also shoots the best in this rifle. No need to reserve the "special" ammo for when I want to impress someone, I can shoot this accurately any time I take it out!
btw, none of the .22 ammo that I tried out did worse than a one-inch group, including flyers, which I think is excellent shooting for any .22 rimfire rifle!

Not bad shooting Carlo. I use my 541T for asprin shooting at 100 yards. It's my favorite one for that kind of plinking and I own some great target rifles, Rem 37, 37-1940, 40's, 540x, 513's, BSA's, Anshultz 54's (1411 & 1413) and a few more. Put some match ammo in that puppy and it's a one hole wonder. It takes a while to break in a 22 barrel.

Lack of response

Hey Carlo, these guys must all be out shooting, with no time left for communication. I posted a highly collectible Shotgun and got zero response, nada. Same time I posted three MKV's for sale, also nib on the Weatherby forum, flooded with response and all three sold in a week. Casually mentioned the 24 year old Limited Edition nib Model 1100 and what do you know, bought by a Weatherby enthusiast.

You might as well buy some shells and go shooting. It beats begging for insults.
