REMINGTON 121 FIELDMASTER CARVED STOCK BRL STAMPED W HEART

Post by rjaf9 »

I just recently purchased a Remington Fieldmaster 121. The serial number is 61856. The left side of the barrel is stamped with the letters PL and next to them a heart is stamped. I know the letters are a date code , June 1942 but no one seems to know what the heart stamped next to the letters meen. The stock and wood pump are carved with animals, deer, wolf, duck, the under side of the pump has a snake carved. There is design work on the metal. Also I was not sure how to identify which model it is, standard Peerless etc. Thank you for any help .

Just a thought, but it may be one of the in process inspectors stamps. I am aware of other shapes that have been identified as such although we have not been able to locate any records at Remington which lists the various inspectors, dates of employment, and the stamp they used.

You need to post a picture, but it sounds like a previous owner has done some work to it..
