I am a new member as of today! I am a fan of Remington. I have an early Remington 550. This rifle stovepipes the empties. The rifle does this regardless if I load it one at a time or use the tubular magazine, this happens about 50 percent of the time, I removed the bolt and completely cleaned all components of the bolt. I cleaned the barrel and while doing so the floating chamber moved slightly.
I then worked the bolt by hand, 50 percent of the time the cartridge ejected almost 5 feet. the other times it would not eject at all, it would pull completely out of the chamber and stay there. I am at a loss! Anybody have any thoughts? Cell # is 978-424-7024.
Thanks,
