Remington single shot ML 20 ga shotgun Info needed
Re: Remington single shot ML 20 ga shotgun Info needed
Obviously members monitoring this forum are not familiar with this model of gun. What makes you think it is a Remington? Please post pictures of marks that indicate Remington manufacture. It is an interesting looking gun but I am not familiar with it either.

I think you will find that Roy Marcot is available on this site, somewhere. Otherwise contact him through the publisher.

From Roy Marcot's book, "REMINGTON - America's Oldest Gunmaker"
In the late 1850s, E. Remington & Sons imported double-barrel shotguns from Birmingham, England, and sold them through gun dealers throughout the East and Central States. In mid-1866, the company took barrels, stocks and other parts from surplus Civil War rifle muskets and began fabricating inexpensive, single-barrel, muzzleloading, percussion shotguns. More than 10,000 of these Remington Single-Barrel, Muzzleloading Shotguns were made through 1878, quite a large number of guns which are mostly unknown by modern day collectors. The primary reason for this is that this 20 gauge shotgun is completely unmarked, and was Remington’s only percussion, single-barrel shotgun.
