25R CARBINE

Jimmy, I also have 2 mod. 25-R's that doesn't have the sling eyes. There are some other varations in these guns. I have one with a crescent butt semi-pistol grip stock that is correct and another that is a factory "C" grade 25-R with a metal shotgun buttplate that is sn# to the gun along with fancy grain factory checkered wood that is marked "C" under the buttplate. The shotgun buttplate is exactly like the one's on the early mod 14's. I have only seen one other from the factory with a metal shotgun buttplate. There is even as much as 3/4" varation is barrel lenght on some of the carbines. Weird varations still pop up from time to time such as the 2 SRC guns that have surfaced in the last 2 yrs.
