Hello kind sirs. I have an opportunity to purchase a Remington Model 8 in 35 Remington caliber. What makes this rifles so unique, is the ornate factory engraving, and very fine checkering on the stock and forestock. It has a rear tang sight, and a strange flip up hooded front sight.
I was wondering if perhaps this is a Premier Grade Model 8, as I have never seen a Premier Grade.
Condition is low excellent, and it has a rubber butt pad installed, which I believe is not original to the rifle. It should have a crescent butt plate?
Could you please comment on this find? Please send a response to: yankeeman@linkline.com as I will not have much free time to check this forum.
Kind regards, Al Gainey
