Hello:
I just picked up a very clean, older 760 in .300 Savage. I know that .300 Savage was discontinued in 1960. Any idea when this rifle was manufactured? Thanks in advance.

Re: Remington Model 760
I also just bought a Remington 760 Gamemaster in .300 Savage, serial # 45051 and manufactured in 1952. A good honest deer rifle. Let me share how I came to buy this. Last year I bought an old Browning .22 auto rifle with an old Weaver El Paso 3x scope at a yard sale. I sent the scope out to be refurbished and sold the rifle. Well the scope was in the shop for almost a year and they forgot to re-blue it. To the owner's credit, he said he had some brand new Weaver El Paso 3x scopes and would I like one, I offered to pay the difference and said yes. So now I have this classic scope. So I figured I should buy a classic rifle to put under it. So I did. I thought I had given up deer hunting, but figure with this rig, I should go at least one more time. That yard sale turned out to be more than I bargained for, but that is what makes life so much fun. Also, Cabelas has Remington ammo on extended back order, but Natchez had it in stock, 150 gr. Core-Lok.
