Bob,

I just joined this site today myself. But, I may have some help for you.

I grew up shooting a model 33 that my father still has. It has a traditional type rear sight with the rampped adjustment bar. The sight is about two and a half inches in length and is spring steel. The two screw holes are attached at the front end of the sight closet to the end of the barrel.

While looking for parts for another remington of my fathers (a Model 341) I seen a picture of the model 33 and 341 on Remingtons web page. The sight is kind of visible from the side shot on line. Very similar to the sights currntly used in a dovetail fashion by marlin on their lever actions.

Hope that helps some.

Bob,

I was just looking on the numrich web site under the remington model 33, they have the schematics posted and list the rear sight. But, the sight they list is the dove tailed version, not the two screw. You may want to purse them.

Good luck,

There was a M/33P that came with a Lyman 55R rear sight. If yours started its life that way, the barrel should be stamped 33P. The M/33 is covered on pages 182-190 in our book (standard edition is now out of print).
