There were a lot of 22 specials made. They are a little more uncommon in the 121 then the 12 though. The 121 never had a cresent butt plate. Nor did the 22 rem. spec. come in a round barrel 12. I own a couple 12 As with the round barrel and a cresent butt plate and not a whole lot of them were made. Without seeing a picture it sounds like a pieced together gun. Post a picture if possible.
