Model 34 shoots high

Post by Nick »

My Model 34 shoots consitently high. Even with the sight elevator removed, it shoots 6" to 8" high at 50 yards. I'm thinking of trying standard velocity ammo or putting in a taller front sight. Any ideas where to get one?

Shouldn't you put the sight elevator back in and set it at it's highest position? If ii am not mistaken this should drop the front sight line of site? Jay Huber RSA

Nope, backwards. Lower the rear sight to drop point of impact. Actually sounds like you need a taller front sight. The sights are dovetailed on, right? Should be able to order a taller one.

Where to get one? try Brownells or Midway USA. They are measured from the bottom of the dovetail to the top of the sight, the total height of the sight.
