Is there any way of tracking to whom a pistol was issued to? I have inhiereted some interesting guns but know nothing of thier history. The most interesting one is the 1858 Remington SN- 53747. This gun may have been handed down from General Alvin P. Hovey (from the North) or General Robert E. Lee (from the South) Both of which are my GGGGrandfathers. I would immagine they both had fancier weapons than this though.
