How can I receive a history letter on my Remington pistol. I would like to a written history as to when it was manufactured and where it was shipped. I am trying to find its history and where it was used by the US Army. Serial no. 107790. I believe this serial range to be from the Indian wars but need written proof. Does Remington Arms Co. provide this as Colt does or can I get this information here.

YOUR Gun was made in late 1864 and is considered a Civil War gun. I know of no history that is available on this gun as to where shipped and who used it. It could have been used in the Indian wars and again no records exist that we know of. Remington Arms does not provide records like Colt. We believe all such records were destroyed after the War and are in the Ilion Dump. Jay Huber RSA
