hi all, first time here..I'am planning to attend a police siezure auction,several remingtons I would be interested in. Auction bill lists mfgr./model and serial# ex:remington wingmaster/870/.410/s109607h nothing else is there a way to zero in on mfg.date with just the serial#? any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

The 'S' prefix puts it between 1968 and 1974.
