A Basic 870 Question

Post by Yodwinder »

I was looking at Mossy 590-A1's and Remy's 870 and decided on the 870. I want an all around gun and thus I have a few questions.

I like the look (and the fact that it reduces recoil by a considerable margin) of the Knoxx SpecOps PG on the Tac-2 but obviously the barrel is cylinder bore, which is fine for HD. However, I'd like to be able to switch to longer barrels (20" with rifled choke for slugs/deer, 26-28" for waterfowl, trap, skeet etc...) So I guess my question is can you change the barrel on the Tac-2.

Sorry for sounding so noobish.

As far as I know, all 870 barrels can be swapped out.
What could have happened... did.

Okay, all 870 barrels can be swapped within gauge and series (Lightweight, etc.)

I think you would have to put an exception on the 3 1/2" barrel fitting on conventional receivers.
