Hi Guys.
Just picked up a Model 31 in 16 Ga. The barrel and receiver S/N's don't match, which is fine by me as this will be used for hunting. However, I was unaware that some of the Model 31's were made with Aluminum receivers. Mine appears to be one, although it is not marked with an "L" the the "Model 31" on the receiver.
Since the bolt locks up on the receiver rather than the barrel on the Model 31, will this firearm fatigue itself to pieces? I know Aluminum does not have an infinite fatigue life, and that's why I ask the question. I just don't want to be eating the bolt when the gun goes bang.
Any info on the Model 31 Al receivers would be appreciated.
