This past weekend I purchase an older model 1100. Ive always wanted one. Its in real nice shape with 30 inch full choke barrel. The barrel date code is "PV" which from my references puts the barrel anyway at 1967 manufacture. The serial number on left side of receiver is 70xxxv. Does anyone have an idea of the approximate year of manufacture. I called Remington and had been put on hold forever, so I finally gave up. Thanks in advance. Nice website by the way.

My guess would be 1964. 70,XXX is pretty low, and they were selling at a pretty good clip back then; they got to one million in 1972.
What could have happened... did.

hey, thanks for the reply. As stated on another forum today, I called Remington and was told 1970 ,no way! As you said , one million by 1972. I was able to date the barrel to 1967, so it may not be the original barrel. I think 1964 is a reasonable guess. thanks very much!
