Purchased a pretty rough #6 Improved at a gun show last weekend and have been sprucing it up. It had some pretty heavy pitting on the one side of the barrel and receiver so I didn't feel bad about taking it down to white metal and blueing it with some Dicopan. Bore is fantastic and am looking forward to shooting it.
My problem is how to get it back together. How do you compress the coil spring, with end pieces, between the falling block and the hammer. Any tricks or tips would be appreciated.
