i have a model 700, .300 win-mag w/ black synthetic stock and heavy barrel w/ gray matte finish. which model of the 700 series is it? value? date of manufacture? the serial# begins G646. on the right-side, just ahead of the receiver, it's marked REP. i'm hoping a dahl sheep will soon be marked "R.I.P"! thanks!

Model 700-which one do i have & value?
Re: Model 700-which one do i have & value?
it's a typo genius. stick to the point. win any spelling b's lately?
Re: Model 700-which one do i have & value?
Here's the link to the barrel codes to figure out when it was made.

Ummmmm......you've got the gun and you can't figure out what it is and you're criticizing someone else for your spelling error and WE are supposed to figure out what YOU have from your limited description?
Ok.....genius......I'll take a wild guess that it's a "Sendero".
Values aren't given on the forum. Too many unknowns to take a stab at it.

Re: Model 700-which one do i have & value?
thanks, for the link... and the attitude. actually, if you and your buddy take a look... both spellings are correct. i thought this forum was for asking questions. guess not. if you're such a genius, why can't you say for sure exactly what it is. why not? i'll tell you why not, because rem has made so mnay versions of the 700 that they can hardly tell you when you call... genius. if your ego is as small as what you ahve in your pants, why don't you get out a little more and stop chastising people for asking questions on a forum. anybody can take a stab and suggest it's a sendero. maybe, it a 700P too. or, maybe it was custom built. point it is... it was a gift and the only markings on it are those i gave. whatever. i'd like to see you at 200yds.

Categorically.....
You're welcome.
You started it (the "attitude" thing) with your response to "Jim in Anchorage". (whom I don't know)
Here are links to sources of the name of the sheep (correct spelling).

(by the way, I was a computer consultant for the Foundation for North American Wild Sheep for a number of years.....about 20 years ago.....so I am familiar with the species of wild sheep......plus, I also live in the Rocky Mountains where there are alot of Bighorn sheep)
Yes, Remington HAS had a lot of variations of the 700 over the years. I have quite a few myself. You didn't specify what barrel length, but you did say it was "heavy", so that may limit the specific model a bit more. When you find and decipher the date codes, that may help even more.

200 yards? Why not CLOSER?

Lets just put this to rest, and keep it professional. Post a photo, and I will do my best to help you out. You may try some recent catalogs for similar photos. Or search gunbroker for others like it.

I have a Model 700, 30-06 with serial marking #B6415054....any explanation of value and year of manufacture?
It has had 10 shots through it and was cleaned thoroughly. It has no damage and is just as it was the day it came from the box....
Thanks!
