shotgun

Wondering if you could help me........ I have just inherited my grandfather's fire arm and cannot find any information on it. If I had to guess, I would say it is at least 100 years old. After taking the fire arm apart, I found a set of numbers 11194 and 4010 aside from the "Remington" name. Do you have any information on this or could you possibly point me in the right direction?????? Thank you for your help, Shelly.

Since Remington has made so many different shotguns, we would need more information to help you. Is it percussion or cartridge? Is it a single shot, pump, or semi-automatic action?
A picture would be the best way to identify it.
