Hello all, just want to start out by saying im new to this. Lately ive been really interested in a bolt action rifle. i recently passed by Bass pro shops down here in Miami and i saw the Remington 798 and i like how it was, i really didn't get into too much detail on what caliber it was and so forth since i was in a rush, but i wanted some feedback from anybody who has one please.
This is the first rifle ill be getting if its worth it, I think it was like about 570 or so, I wanted to see what is the standard caliber for these type of rifles? i want a rifle that is powerful but at the same time i don't want it to blow my shoulder off with the recoil, you think .308 win is good enough? btw i wont be doing any hunting the rifle is going to be for the outdoor shooting range. Also, is this the newest 798 that there is or is there an 09 one?
