I have remington 22 pump that my father gave me many years ago. I would like to know year of mfg and any other info. It does not have a model no. Only info is: behind rear site on barrel is Remington 22 short, long, long rifle; in front of rear site is Remington Union Metallic Cartridge Co. Remington Works Ilion, NY and 5 Pederson patent dates from 1909 to 1912; in front of trigger guard on bottom of frame is 347991. What can you tell me about this gun?
Thanks - Steve Ragsdale

Re: Remington 22 pump rifle
You have a Model 12 Remington made in 1916. If it has a round barrel it is a M/12-A. With an octagon barrel it is a M/12-C.
Re: Remington 22 pump rifle
thank you - I was reading your reply to RCamp re his model 12. You said that if the barrel has short, long, and long rifle it is not original barrel. Does that also apply to my gun? I have looked for date code on barrel with a magnifying glass. All I found was what looks like an R with line underneath. There appears to be something else under the line, but I cannot make out what it is. maybe a 1. Is it easy to removal the barrel? Perhaps if I could do so, I might be able to see the whole code.
thanks again for your reply.

Re: Remington 22 pump rifle
No, the barrel is not easy to remove... Yours is later and should be S, L, LR.
Re: Remington 22 pump rifle
Thanks again. Any suggestions on where I could find info on disassembly? I would like to give it a good cleaning.
Re: Remington 22 pump rifle
There are several assembly/disassembly paperback books. They can be found at most gun shows as well as the usual internet places.
Re: Remington 22 pump rifle
thanks for your help. I will keep looking on the internet.
