Could someone post the exact weight of the Model 33 rifle?
Thanks very much!
Weight of Model 33, 33-P, etc.?
Re: Weight of Model 33, 33-P, etc.?
Nope, because the weight of the wood varies & there were variations that would affect the weight. In Rem's 1931 introduction letter it stated that the weight was "about 4 1/2 pounds". In 1933 Rem said "about 5 pounds". The first letter would refer to the Type 1; the second to Type II M/33. The Type 1 was smaller than the Type II. Also, there were "P" (peep sight) & NRA variations. The NRA came with sling swivels and a sling.
I'll bet you thought it would be easy to get an answer???

John, thanks very much for your post. It's enough for me to compare and do a bit more research. I'm looking for something small, lightweight, with aperture sights. I'll look for something around four 1/2 pounds and see if I can handle it. That'll determine whether or not to pursue a Model 33. I know five pounds is too heavy.

A Type 1 M/33-P should work for you.
