I saw a small rifle today, very similar size and style to my Winchester Model 02A. It was a little Remington and looked to be from the 1920s or a bit older. Single-shot, takes .22 LR cartridges. Has a flip-up peep sight. It cocks with by a thumb mechanism, such as on a revolver. I'd guess it weighs four-five pounds.
It'll be for sale soon, and I'd like to do my research, so I know whether or not to be seriously interested.
I'd like to find out the model number and do a bit of research on it, and similar old youth rifles.
Could someone point me towards a reference book? Or is someone here familiar with these?
Many thanks.
Youth rifle model number?
Re: Youth rifle model number?
It sure sounds like a Model 6. As to a reference book, I believe you can find one in the "Books" section of this website. It's called Remington .22 Rimfire Rifles. Roy Marcot & I wrote it and it can be purchased by calling me @ 541.895-2862 with your credit card in hand...
Re: Youth rifle model number?
John, I found a link and double-checked. I do think it is a Model 6. Good to know you've got a Rem. Rimfire book. Thanks much for your post.
