I think I have an early auto loader

Post by Barton92 »

I have a model 11 and have some questions about the year it was manufactured. I have looked at the barrel and it is stamped EWW3. If I have read it right it would be oct of 1950. There is no others stamps on the barrel that would indicate on when it was manufactured. Therefore I believe that the marking on the barrel is the date that it was repaired. Would it be possible that it is an early 1905-1911 model autoloader and not the model 11 ? I am new are trying to date Remington firearms any info will be helpful thank you

From the best available serial number chronology 51992 is a Remington Autoloading Shotgun of 1908 vintage. From the 1908 Remington Arms Co. catalog --

You are right that the EWW3 is a Remington repair code for October 1950. Your barrel should be marked like this --

Thank you for the info. this is what the barrel is marked. I was told to take the barrel off and there should be markings in there somewhere
