help determining date of manufacture on 1100's

Post by remington1100x3 »

hello everyone,I just bought a used 1100 trap gun with a gold trigger and serial #504XXV,this gun has no safety and I was just wondering what year it was manufactured in,the ffl dealer I had it shipped to said that the condition was 98%,heck he even tried to buy it from me.Other than being beautiful is it anything special,I was going to use it for turkey shoots on the weekends,I also have a 1100 magnum serial # M4818XXM that I use to deer hunt with when dog driving, and another 1100 serial# L6166XXV tha I use for everthing else---great guns and now that my boys are old enough starting to look for them a 20 gauge 1100 magnum and the .410 1100.Thanks for any help.

If the barrels are original, and have barrel codes, go back to
http://www.remingtonsociety.com
and look under manufacturing dates. Or, for the best info, call Remington.
That trap gun could well have an aftermarket trigger group in it.
What could have happened... did.
