Remington Model 25

In trying to disassemble my Model 25, the action bar will not unscrew from the magazine connector. The rifle is in wonderful condition and I am quite confident that the threads are not rusted and that the parts are not misthreaded together. Does anyone have any experience with these rifles? Did Remington intend this joint to be semi-permanent?
