Legit 1871 Rolling Block?
Legit 1871 Rolling Block?
I picked up this old rifle from a guy that didn't have much information about it. I tried to do some research, but I am not even to novice level of rolling block expertise. My best guess is it's a New York State Militia Model 1871 Remington Rolling Block Rifle – caliber 50-70 Govt. There is some pitting, but the metal seems to be in really good condition. And the stock is still very nice. I find it hard to believe it would be that old of a rifle. Hopefully someone can provide details or clarification - it's a pretty cool old gun!

Hi Bart,
I see that you've had a few views but no replies. That might be because you posted in the handgun section, instead of the rifle section. Try a re-post ans see if you get any response.
Good luck,
Daniel
