Help ID ou barrels

Post by krom »

Going through some of my grandfather's old things, and came across these ou barrels. He was the head of metallurgy in Ilion for 40 years or more, retired in the early 80s and I worked as a manufacturing engineer for a short stint around 2000 fwiw.
The long set has what looks like a heading check gauge jammed a few inches into bottom barrel. You should be able to see the bulge.

I also came across 2 unfinished 20 gauge barrels threaded on the chamber end.

Model 32, I think, but I'm not all that familiar with Remington O/U's,

The middle barrels in the last picture are Model 32 skeet barrels with the factory milled integral with the barrel vent rib. The other barrels appear to be after market or perhaps factory experimental. At one time Simmons offered barrels for the Model 32.

Thanks, I would say the other two are experimental.

The next question is what would you do with them? With the amount of rust on them, and the fact that I don't own a 32 I'm unsure if they would be any value to anyone

If some Model 32 owner here hasn't already PM'd you to buy them, you could put them up on ebay, I'm sure someone out there would love to have them.
