Rem. Mohawk 48

There is a Mohawk 48 at a shop I am considering buying & working on. the idiot who owned it before carved his name into the reciever. No where near the Engravings and not too deep where I could not sand, steel wool, and buff out with a lot of elbow grease. Forearm has a crack that I think I can glue. I would strip wood & refinish, and then re-blue all metal with Oxpho. Shop owner had 149 listed but then said he would go 120.00 I have been told not to pay more than 100.00 for this gun because of the carving of the idiots name and slightly cracked stock. I told the shop owner when he is ready to let me have for 100.00, I will get it. Opinions??? 12 gauge 2 3/4" chamber

Paid $75.00 ea for a pair of Mohawk 48's 20 ga, in 1974. Retailed for $125.00 ea.
