11-48 410 butt plate replacement
11-48 410 butt plate replacement
Looking for a replacement butt plate. It's 4-7/8 long and 1-1/2 wide. See attached photo. I may be stuck just fixing it with some epoxy

Your local gunsmith might have some take-offs after recoil pad installation. This might be the better choice as many times the stocks are sanded with the buttplate installed so the fit is near perfect.
Gun parts sources such as Numrich might have original or reproductions.
I think this company makes reproductions from molds of factory parts ~ https://vintagegungrips.com/product-cat ... alphabet=R
Dig out the crud and such from the screw heads prior to removal, this will help prevent scarring or damage.

Thanks for the info. I will likely use some JB black epoxy and carefully craft a dam to shape the bottom of the plate. I've searched high and low and don't find ones that will fit as the sub-gauge shotguns have a smaller plate.
When the rain stops next week I hope to get out and do some shooting. The 410 cycles fine, however occasionally locks up in full recoil position. Removing the forend releases it. My gunsmith is pretty savy on these 1148's and said it was ok. Maybe he overlooked something.
He found me a cutt's choke tube, and I will pattern it on some cardboard to see how large the spread is. I believe it to be imp-cyl or mod. Removing the tube has occured to me... rendering it CYL, however It just don't seem like the right choice.
Appreciate all that you do. Thanks for the reply.
Oh, by the way. Looks like Rem-Arms is failing. How many of the machines that made 1100 1187 link's and action bars did Remington have. I'd like to buy one of each, and employ some of the locals with mechanical sense.
